When I was younger I was really (really) into matchbox twenty and was subsequently appreciative of Rob’s work when he started going solo. Now when he comes around it’s more of an obligation type thing than an actual excitement of seeing a performer. Kind of like visiting a relative you haven’t seen for years.



Naturally I brought in my camera. Security caught me with it and said not to use it and then let me inside the theatre. Sure! That’s exactly why I brought it! Of course, everyone else brought cameras as well, though nobody else in the audience brought a 40D.



And, of course, when I found my seat, I was excited that it was so close to the stage, but knew I would be in trouble because I was on the aisle. About ten feet from the door to backstage. Which meant about three security guards within 10 feet of me and my 40D. I tried in vain to convince them that it wasn’t a professional camera, tried to make it appear smaller than it was, but to no avail.

Luckily I managed to take almost 200 shots before having to retire my camera for the night.
