Around New York

So I spend a lot of time on weekends walking around the city. I have a secret goal (which won’t be so secret anymore) of having walked down every Manhattan Street. Problem is, there are some streets I just seem to like so much (um, hello Cornelia Street – you are so short yet so charming!!!) that I have to force myself to branch out.

Couch on Cornelia Street

This was taken on Cornelia Street (have I mentioned I love that street?). I took several different shots of this. As I was finishing, some guy came up to me and said something to the effect of that it was too bad I didn’t come by earlier, as someone had been sleeping on that couch for most of the morning, and what a better shot it would have been! Fail.
Open Warehouse Door in Brooklyn
This was taken in Brooklyn. It’s currently part of the “Broken” show at the Sixth Street Gallery in Washington State. I think this warrants a “Boo-yeah!”
For one of my photography classes in college, I centered my final project around trash in New York. I think I was just being lazy, as there’s a lot of trash and, at times, it seems to be everywhere. But I was pleased enough with the final product that I apparently keep pursuing the trashiness. It’s like the celebrity world, just not as disease-ridden.

Roman - That is such a great picture of the Fridge, amongst the trash (do we consider the Fridge to be trash too? It looks like the white elephant in my uncomfortable conversations). I was googling Stuy Town and came across your website, super great pics :)
